Have You Got the Pandemic Blues?

Do you know the old adage...

It will be ONE YEAR in mid-March since our world changed! COVID-19 came in like a lion and has stayed fairly lion-like ever since. Not a lamb in sight. Lions are ferocious. They are wild. They are unpredictable, especially if you are in their territory and they are hungry! Our world during COVID has been a lot like a hungry lion.

But lions are also strong. And brave. These qualities have been necessary for "survival" during this time. We became lions to battle the predator we call COVID-19. All of us have had to be strong and brave during this past year, for ourselves and for those we care about. Some days more so than others, but the struggle has been relentless. And that can be stressful and simply exhausting.

I was talking with a friend the other day, and she expressed how she has been in such a funk lately. Nothing excites her right now. Not a new take-out place. Not a new purchase. Not even a new TV series to binge! Being a huge TV fan, that one was the most concerning to me. 😉

It is hard to get pleasure out of life when there is nothing special to look forward to.

The weather is lousy in many parts of the country. Your daily routine is the same thing over and over again with no end in sight, at least for now. We still need to wear masks (and they may become a part of our lives forever). Getting everyone vaccinated is taking a lot longer than we had hoped. If you are a teacher or school staff member, you might be unsure what going back to school will look like for you. And parents are of course concerned about what type of school experience is best for their children. Does that sum up all the negative feelings and thoughts you might be experiencing? Did I miss anything? 😩

Okay. So we know what we can't change, at least on our own and immediately. What are some things we can control? How can we carve out more moments of happiness for ourselves? What will help each of us to overcome our Pandemic Blues?

Create The Life You Want.

Once you have worked on improving your mood, you can then focus on your motivation to actively participate more in your life. Fake it until you make it if you have to for motivation!

I ASK EACH OF YOU TO SELECT AT LEAST ONE THING

CREATE THE LIFE YOU WANT!

There are a ton of suggestions on my blog post, Soul Soothers. Check it out!

"We need to focus on creating a life we WANT by selecting activities and commitments that we choose to do, not being a bystander and simply letting life happen to us."

If you won't listen to me, maybe you'll listen to one of the best looking men in the world:
